Was Nabi Adam (pbuh) 60 cubits tall?

Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, "Go and greet that group of angels, and listen to their reply, for it will be your greeting (salutation) and the greeting (salutations of your offspring."(Narrated by Bukhari vol. IV, no. 543)

How do you explain that Adam was 60 cubits tall?

The more complete wording in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim adds "in the heaven" (fi al-Sama'), i.e. in an 'other-worldly' context.

"Allah created Adam (in the heaven), making him 60 cubits tall."

Meaning: Only in heaven Adam was 60 cubits tall, not on earth.

Similarly, when the Prophet (pbuh) saw Ibrahim (phuh) in the heaven (during isra' mikraj), he said Ibrahim (phuh) was so tall that he could hardly see his head as narrated from Samura ibn Jundub in Sahih al-Bukhari.
